Jian Zhou (周健)

You can call me Jack.

I am an independent researcher based in Shanghai, China. My research lies at the intersection of number theory, mathematical physics, and condensed matter theory.

Professional Life

By day, I work as Director of Product and Game Producer at XD.INC (HKEX: 02400), a Hong Kong-listed gaming company. I lead cross-platform game development teams working with Unreal Engine 5.

Research Motivation

The fine-structure constant α has long fascinated me — this mysterious dimensionless number that Feynman himself called “one of the greatest damn mysteries of physics.” I have been driven by a simple question: can this constant admit an elegant and exact mathematical expression?

This pursuit has led me from α to the Riemann Hypothesis, from superconductivity to membrane models of particles, all connected through the deep arithmetic structure of the Bost-Connes system.
