Jian Zhou (周健)
You can call me Jack.
I am an independent researcher based in Shanghai, China. By day, I work as Director of Product and Game Producer at XD.INC (HKEX: 02400), a Hong Kong-listed gaming company. I lead cross-platform game development teams working with Unreal Engine 5.
Berlin Years (2017–2020)
During this time, I worked as Studio Director at Bigpoint GmbH in Berlin. It was a period I thoroughly enjoyed — both the work and the life the city had to offer.
Research Motivation
My undergraduate degree was in Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering — not physics. But the emergence of powerful AI tools has genuinely reignited my passion for physics in a way I did not expect. Over the past year, I have been using these tools to pursue independent research, and in doing so I have found myself wanting to engage with the subject more rigorously and systematically, with the long-term goal of contributing meaningfully to the field.
JZ Institute of Science
I am the Founder & Director of JZ Institute of Science (JZIS) — a non-profit research organization whose mission is to leverage AI to empower independent researchers and accelerate scientific discovery. JZIS develops open-source tools and frameworks for AI-augmented research, making frontier science more accessible to researchers outside traditional academic institutions.
